Recommended PC Peripherals
Quindi recommends the following audio and video input devices for use with Meeting Companion software.
For more in-depth information on this topic, please read our TechTip.
Microphones
Meeting Companion software works with nearly any PC microphone, including those built-in to notebook PCs and webcams.
While built-in microphones are adequate for small meetings, an external microphone will usually enhance audio recording quality.
There is no single best microphone.
For smaller meetings, an inexpensive omnidirectional microphone, such as the Audio-Technica ATR-60C, or a tabletop boundary microphone can be very effective.
For larger meetings, an array microphone, such as the Acoustic Magic Voice Tracker microphone, can better capture the voices of all participants while filtering out unwanted sounds.
Webcams
Although most USB webcams work with Meeting Companion, Quindi recommends the QuickCam Pro 5000 webcam. The QuickCam is an affordable, high-quality USB webcam that captures excellent video and good audio.
If you are using a newer Logitech webcam, e.g., QuickCam Pro 5000, please read our support note on this topic.
Telephone Recording Adapters
For teleconferences, a telephone “splitter,” such as the DynaMetric model TLP-102 Telephone Recording Adapter, can be used to capture telephone conversions with your PC and Quindi Meeting Companion.
